How does Notion pricing work?

Aug 02 2023

In this blog post, we go through a detailed breakdown of how Notion's pricing works, identifying its four main tiers - Free, Plus, Business, and Enterprise, and an optional AI add-on.

Understanding Notion's Four Pricing Tiers

Notion offers four different pricing tiers: Free, Plus, Business, and Enterprise. Each tier is created to cater to different user needs and budgets, from individuals and small groups to large organizations.

The Free tier is perfect for individuals or teams who are looking to get a taste of Notion's capabilities. It offers a collaborative workspace with basic page analytics and the ability to invite ten guests.

For $8 per user per month (billed annually) or $10 (billed monthly), you can upgrade to the Plus tier which is designed for small groups. The Plus plan provides access to unlimited blocks for teams and unrestricted file uploads.

Business tier, coming at $15 per user per month (billed annually) or $18 (billed monthly), extends the Plus tier functionalities which are designed for companies. It provides advanced features like SAML SSO, private team spaces, and advanced page analytics.

Finally, the Enterprise tier offers advanced controls and support at a custom price. It includes more robust features such as audit log, user provisioning (SCIM), advanced security and controls, and a dedicated success manager for accounts with 100+ seats.

Add-Ons and Optional Upgrades

Besides these core plans, Notion also offers an optional AI add-on at $8 per member per month (billed annually). The Notion AI add-on provides features like generating summaries, writing effective documents, and brainstorming new ideas. This add-on can be added to any of Notion's paid plans or Free plans at an additional cost of $10 per month for monthly billing.

Regardless of the tier, each user has the option to request a trial before deciding to purchase a plan, ensuring that the chosen plan is the best fit for their individual or organizational needs.

Users can compare the features of the various plans in detail before making a commitment. Notion ensures that there's a membership level for every team size and requirement.
