In this post, we'll guide you through the process of creating and using a transfer step-by-step.
To start, navigate to the Transfers page within your Zapier account and click "New Transfer" in the upper right corner. You can also create a transfer from an existing Zap if it uses a trigger supported by the Transfer feature.
Next, choose whether you want your transfer to run once or on a recurring schedule. Once you've made your selection, proceed to choose the source app which you will send data from, and the destination app which will receive the data.
After selecting your source and destination apps, connect the source app account with Zapier. If you don't have an account connected already, click "Connect a new account" and follow the instructions. Once connected, select the data source from the provided options for required and optional dropdown menus.
Now, connect the destination app account following the same process. In the "Map data from APP1 to APP2" section, you'll need to fill in required and optional fields to indicate where the data should be transferred within the receiving app.
With everything mapped out, review your field mappings in the "Are your fields mapped correctly?" section. Make any necessary adjustments before proceeding. If you chose to schedule a recurring transfer, select the transfer frequency (every hour, day, week, or month) and specific timing details.
Next, review the records being transferred. Filter them by one or all source app fields to narrow down which records you want to send. Scheduled transfers will only show examples of records that match provided filters, while one-time transfers allow for a manual selection of records to send.
Once your data has been reviewed and selected, click "Send data" to initiate the transfer process. You can view the progress of your transfer and exit back to the Transfer dashboard when needed. Transfers use one task per record sent, so be mindful of your available tasks and any rate limits imposed by the involved apps.
To review and manage your existing transfers, visit the Transfers page. Here you can view details, edit transfer settings, rename transfers, and even run transfers again when necessary. By understanding how to efficiently use the Transfer feature, you'll be able to optimize your data management strategy and save both time and effort.
